Q: Tell us something more about your books?
My book Magic Crown is about four young girls from diverse backgrounds who realize they have more in common than they think… their magic crown ( hair). They learn to embrace their uniqueness through the diversity of their crowns.
Q: Why do you choose kids as your reader ? is there any specific reason?
I chose kids as my reader because I remember being a kid and not fully embracing myself. My desire is for this book to be a tool in helping children and adults to fully love, accept and embrace themselves as early as possible.
Q: How did these stories and characters come to your mind?
This story and character came to mind through my life experience. My journey of self acceptance and self love is where the story came from.
Q: Do you want to leave any message for your readers?
The story is truly a reflection of my childhood growing up. I believe I am supposed to share the story to let other kids know that although you may not fully embrace yourself, that can change once you realize how cool and amazing your differences are. My desire is for this book to be a tool in helping children and adults to fully love, accept and embrace themselves. Our differences are what makes the world go round.
