As a preschool teacher, Silvia Autorino Galombik found herself tying an endless number of loose shoelaces. Her creative background led her to writing her instructive and whimsical picture book, Happy Laces, to help young children gain confidence and learn this tricky milestone. Silvia knew she wanted to be a writer even as a teen. She is inspired with so many ideas from her preschool students, believing that teachers should simply be guides and that children learn better by doing things themselves and at their own pace. Silvia believes that a great children’s book is one that is cute, quirky, and makes the reader feel positive and empowered long after the book is closed. She hopes her stories inspire kids to never give up and, if at first you don’t succeed, tie, tie, again! When she isn’t writing informative and entertaining books for children, Silvia enjoys using her creativity, reading, cooking, coming up with new business ideas, and daydreaming. A former fashion designer, Silvia was born and raised in Brooklyn, NY where she still resides with her two teenage daughters. Happy Laces is her debut children’s book.
