Q: First tell us something about yourself.
I am a new kids book Author, now on the sequel of the first Book. Which is Little Joe in The Big City. This book is Called The L.A. Adventure. Now taking kids on a journey through Hollywood and over L.A.
Q: Can you give us a brief overview of the storyline?
In the Book Little Joe meets a homeless Dog by the name of Gambi. Who he becomes close with and he takes him on his journey around the City.
Q: How did you come up with the characters? Are they based on real people?
I came up with the character 2 years ago. When I was visiting New York City. I thought to myself. How nice it would be if I made books for kids. That will take them to the cities I get to see, and they too will someday.
Q: What challenges did you encounter while writing the book?
I had a few challenges with this book due to the fact I tried to include details about L.A. that kids might not hear about. Like The part of Downtown L.A. called “Little Mexico”. I think it’s important since I’m half Mexican to include that part of the City as well.
Q: How long did it take you to write the book?
It took me about two weeks, because I tried to come up with great details and story line for Little Joe.
Q: What message or theme do you hope readers take away from your book?
The message I have for the book is to bring awareness to homeless animals in our major cities, who are often ignored, and they too can have a happy life as well.
Q: Did you draw from any personal experiences while writing?
I did use some personal experiences I’ve had when I visited L.A. many times. And the Illustrations are from an aging and talented human being by the name of Zar Daligdig. Who I’m Fortunate to have on my team to bring my story to life.
