Q: First, tell us something about yourself?
My name is Carmelita Milfort-Vasilyeva. I have been working as a Full-time teacher for nine years. I have my Associate’s degree in Elementary Education, a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, and a Master’s degree in Developmental Disabilities. I am also an ESL teacher teaching English to children in China. As you can tell, teaching is my passion. I love working with children because I enjoy teaching them about the world around them. My goal as a teacher is to help each child learn and grow physically and mentally. I have learned from previous classes that the best way to help a child learn is for the parent and teacher to work together. I do my best each semester to connect with every one of my parents so that we are on the same page. I believe building a relationship with parents is the key for any child to thrive. I understand how important it is to have a relationship with your children’s teacher because I have two young children, and I know the importance of parent and teacher relationship.
