Q: First, tell us something about yourself.
My name is Alicia. I’m an educator, mentor, and children’s writer. I enjoy traveling, listening to various podcasts, spending quality time with my loved ones, and working out. I like to write stories that can help build children’s imagination and sense of curiosity.
Q: How and when did your journey start as a writer?
My first book, The Mess, was released in May 2021. I was inspired to write this story by a class experience I had while teaching my TK students. Then I continued to write more thereafter.
Q: Tell us something more about your book series.
This is my third and newly released book titled Practicing Kindness. The book displays different scenarios of how children can be kind, compassionate, problem solve, and build positive connections with their peers.
Q: How did you create the magical system in your books and characters?
I desired to have a story that has multiple characters and displays inclusiveness. I also wanted to create a message that children can relate to while helping them understand the importance of being empathetic towards others. This was my vision, and that’s how I moved forward with the story.
