Anna always spends her summers in a village in Spain with her grandparents. For the rest of the year, she lives in England and speaks in English. She knows only some words in Spanish, so it is difficult for her to communicate with the children in Spain.
They make fun of her for the way she talks and what she eats.
Then her grandmother tells her that she is special because she is able to speak in two languages, Spanish and English, and to have two different cultures.
This beautifully illustrated picture book teaches children that we should respect each other’s culture and try to learn from them.
This book also teaches children about being kind, respecting others, and most importantly encourages children to believe in their powers and strength.
