Q: First tell us something about yourself.
I’m a children’s author from Metro Detroit building a whimsical world called The Dandelion Kingdom. I write musical, friendship-driven picture books that captivate children and give tired parents something to actually enjoy at bedtime.
Q: How and when did your journey start as a writer?
I’ve been writing stories in my head since childhood—squirrels and houseplants were my first best friends. But motherhood reignited the magic. The moment I started reading to my daughter, the universe basically shoved me into creating the books I wished existed.
Q: How do you ensure that your characters feel relatable and authentic to young readers?
I write from emotional truth. Every creature faces something real: belonging, bravery, being different, finding your people. I strip away the fluff and let the heart lead. Kids feel honesty instantly. And I have a peer-review group of readers under ten who help shape my stories and make sure the magic lands exactly where children want it.
Q: Tell us something more about your book series.
The Dandelion Kingdom is four seasonal picture books—forest, Arctic, springtime royal, and tropical. Each book stands alone, but together they create a world where music, friendship, and joyful rebellion guide every adventure.
Q: How did you create the magical system in your books and characters?
My magic comes from nature, music, and emotion. It’s not wands and spells—it’s dance parties under the stars, kindness as power, and creatures who express themselves freely. The magic is the feeling, not the rulebook.
Q: Do you want to leave any message for your readers?
Yes: You are perfect as you are. Be brave, be kind, and don’t dim your sparkle. In this kingdom, every child—and every grown-up kid—belongs here.
