Q: Tell us about yourself.
Hi! My name is Tiffany Harris. I’m a children’s book author and blogger, a wife, and a mom to three boys. I’m the founder of Books by Tiffany, where I create stories centered on early childhood experiences, emotional growth, and family connection. I recently released the final two books in my series, Jordy Bear’s Big Boy Adventures, a collection inspired by toddlerhood and the everyday adventures of becoming a big kid!
Q: How and when did your journey as a writer start?
My journey as a writer truly began in childhood. Books and writing were always my escape and a place where I felt most myself. After giving birth to our third son, Jordan—lovingly known as “Jordy Bear”—I felt a deep desire to show my boys that dreams are worth pursuing at any stage of life.
In 2020, I launched my blog Journey to Womanhood, and in 2022, I released my first guided prompt journal for mothers, Motherhood Reflections: Acknowledging Your Resilience & Learning Grace. From there, I knew I wanted to do more. Becoming an author had always been a dream of mine, and that’s when I fully stepped into my writing journey. Since then the books have poured out of me.
Q: Tell us more about your book series
The series began with a single book, I Sleep With You, Mommy, inspired by a phrase my son Jordan would say every night as he wandered into our room. That simple, tender moment sparked the creation of Jordy Bear’s Big Boy Adventures.
The series follows Jordy Bear through the everyday milestones of toddlerhood—learning independence, potty training, making friends, navigating big emotions, and growing confidence. These stories are meant to feel familiar, comforting, and affirming for both children and the adults reading alongside them.
Q: How do you create the magical world and characters in your books?
My boys are my greatest inspiration. Childhood is such a magical, imaginative period, and I often feel like the stories write themselves. My kids are funny, curious, rambunctious, and full of personality, and I don’t have to look far to find inspiration. Their real-life moments shape the heart, humor, and authenticity of my characters—and they continue to inspire stories I’ll be releasing in 2026 – The Art Competition and The Buzzer Beater.
Q: Do you want to leave a message for your readers?
Yes—reading is a beautiful gift, and I encourage families to read often and read together. Books open doors, spark imagination, and build confidence. One of my favorite quotes, featured on my website, is by Frederick Douglass:
“Once you learn to read, you will be forever free.”
I believe that wholeheartedly. Not only will you forever be free, but you’ll open up your worldview and the possibilities for your life.
