Q: First tell us something about yourself?
I am a proud father of three boys. Currently I am the owner of a non-profit Youth Mentoring and Development organization (Identity Center Inc).
I have worked with children and youth for the last 20+ years in various sectors. It’s my purpose and passion to see young people live a positive and healthy life.
Q: How and when did your journey start as a writer?
I started writing plays and programs when I was about 12 years old at my grandmother’s church. This passion then matured into writing songs and raps. So as far as I can remember I have been writing.
Q: When did you write your first story? Is it published or not?
My first story came in 2021. Yes, my book is published
Q: Tell us something more about your books?
My books are all about inspiration for children to pursue their purpose, identify with themselves, and act with the things God has placed inside them for the world.
Q: How did these stories and characters come to you?
So, this book and its characters (Mainly Rooster Roo our main character) were created from a copy written puppet ministry I created in 2010. I traveled a little and performed puppet skits for over 10 years using those already gifts of writing and rapping to inspire youth. In 2021 I had decided to call it quits with the puppets and focus on youth mentoring. But one day something urged me to take Rooster Roo and the puppet characters and put them into books. The first book introduces Rooster Roo and the characters but shares with the reader how Rooster finding a shiny microphone and thus began his rapping career to inspire children.
