Q: First tell us something about yourself.
I am a faith-based writer and creator who is passionate about crafting inspirational content that feeds the soul and glorifies God. I moved to Atlanta in 2012 for college and have since received a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and a master’s degree in Marketing. While pursuing, my graduate degree, I began my career in marketing and communications working in various industries such as government, higher education, sports and entertainment, and more. Aside from my full-time roles, I have been on an entrepreneurial journey as a creative writer specializing in helping brands tell their story.
Q: How and when did your journey start as a writer?
I found my purpose as a writer at a very young age. I went from writing for essay contests to becoming the editor-in-chief of my high school yearbook. From there, I went on to write for a few online magazines in college until I started my own inspirational blog. As a blogger, I really dived into my passion for writing. I soon realized that I wanted my words to actually help people – I wanted to write blog posts, articles, and even books that would encourage others. I always knew that I was destined to use my gift of writing as a ministry to bless others.
Q: When did you write your first story? Is it published or not?
I wrote my first story during my junior year of college, but it wasn’t published until 2023, almost 8 years later.
Q: Tell us something more about your books?
My first story, “Payton’s Little Prayers” is about Payton, a small girl with a big imagination who wants to introduce the world to her special friend. Her special friend goes with her everywhere, talks to her often, and grants her the desires of her heart. This friend never leaves her side and is always ready to help in any way possible.
One day, Payton and her mother head out to enjoy some quality time together. They spend the day having lots of fun venturing around their small Georgia hometown. Throughout the day, Payton is faced with a few tough situations that require her to ask her special friend for help. Will He help out and save the day? Check out the book to find out!
Q: How did these stories and characters come to your mind?
Payton is loosely based on me as a little girl learning about God. I thought of all the lessons my family taught me about faith, and it created a desire within me to share these lessons with other children. My desire is for as many children as possible to discover the power of God!
Q: Do you want to leave any message for your readers?
My dream took 8 years to come to fruition, so don’t let your dreams die just because they may take longer than expected. Keep the faith like Little Miss Payton, and I promise it will all come to pass! Thank you in advance for supporting Payton and her journey with God.
