Q: First, tell us something about yourself.
My name is Milicent Reed. I’m a purpose-driven leader, children’s book author, and Founder & CEO of iMPACT Greater Good™️, a nonprofit dedicated to education and community outreach and the my Little Millie™️ multicultural and inclusive children’s book brand. At 42, my life’s work centers on building confidence in the next generation through storytelling, curriculum, and service. At home, my loyal Malshi, Benzo, keeps me grounded and reminds me to lead with both strength and heart.
Q: How and when did your journey start as a writer?
I majored in Print Journalism in college and served on the newspaper staff in high school, so writing has always been part of who I am. The vision for the Little Millie® children’s book series has been on my heart since childhood, inspired by my love for the The Berenstain Bears collection.
Q: Tell us more about your book series.
The Little Millie® children’s collection is an inclusive series designed to teach positive mental health habits at a young age. Each book instills self-love, strong character, and unshakable confidence, empowering ALL children to believe in who they are.
Q: How did you create the magical system in your books and characters?
The stories were divinely inspired. I would wake up each morning with clarity and creativity flowing. The process was deeply spiritual, God gave me the vision, and I simply followed it.
