In 2020 after completing an amazing life changing course online, I uncovered my creative side in writing.

Q: Tell us something more about your books.
My books are based on things I love and am passionate about. Magic, creativity, focus, wonder, space, Egypt, my daughter.
Emerson in the clouds was a creative way of processing my grief and loss of one of my triplets. I would have called her Emmerson.
It’s a big concept to talk about grief and the loss of a loved one in a family,
particularly for children and young adults. To comprehend what is happening, grief, loss and pain.
There are various ways and tools we can use to deal with this, but when you’re a young child, especially if your sibling dies, it can be a big challenging thing to navigate. Its challenging for an adult to try and understand what it means and how to cope even more so at such a young age, I found writing Emmerson in the Clouds was a beautiful way of invoking a sense of eternal connection for my boys (Sam and Dean) especially in the last chapter where the boys reconnect with Emmerson.
My intention has always been to inspire a creative way of processing loss through imagination. This is a story based on real events and people.
Characters used in Emmerson in the clouds are based on people I have loved and lost or characters that have a special meaning to me. Especially Nanna Bi, who was Mum passed in December this year.
Emmerson in the clouds is a beautiful story about Emmerson, who would now be eight years old, and Emmerson’s quest to understand her own death and explore ways to reconnect with her family from beyond death.
We meet many characters who help Emmerson understand, and unpack difficult concepts. Emmerson’s journey is to find a way to reconnect with her loved ones who are still living with her mum, her dad, her siblings, and grief.
Q: How did these stories and characters come to your mind?
Superconscious Dave was born out of my love for space, exploration, imagination and wonder. Superconscious Dave invites young readers to explore the unknown, unseen and magic.
Emmerson in the Clouds was born out of my desire to keep Emmerson’s spirit alive for my family and to help others process grief, creatively. I have a free Grief Journal download on my website.
