Q: First tell us something about yourself.
Hi everyone! My name is Kateryna Dronova, and I’m a writer with a wild imagination and a deep love for folklore. I hold two Master’s degrees—one in Journalism and one in Art History. Originally from Ukraine, I love blending culture, history, and storytelling. Writing has been the passion of my entire life.
Q: How and when did your journey start as a writer?
I started writing at a very early age—around seven years old. I began with short, humorous stories and eventually moved on to longer tales and full novels. Every day I wrote a few pages and read them to anyone I could catch: my parents, friends, relatives, even the grannies sitting on the bench outside. I was enchanted by the joy people felt when listening to my stories. From that moment, my dream was born: I wanted to be a writer.
Q: Tell us something more about your book series.
So far, I have a few children’s books published and several more in the works. My newest titles are Holly and the Magic Bunny and Let’s Look, Not Touch.
Q: How did you create the magical system in your books and characters?
My books and characters are always born from feelings and childhood memories. There’s one question I always ask myself: What should my readers feel when they read this? Coziness, happiness, a fresh breeze on their faces? I try to recreate those emotions and blend them naturally into the story.
Q: Do you want to leave any message for your readers?
Dream big and enjoy every moment of your life.
