I am a mom of two grown college kiddos and we are a house divided with one attending the University of Texas in Austin and one at Texas A&M, love coaching and playing tennis, traveling and adventure. Once even rappled down the side of a hotel to raise money and awarenss for literacy and the importance of public libraries. I am a Registered Sanitarian and Certified Professional in Food Safety with over 20 years of experience in healthcare, regulatory, and food service. I have spent my career developing and managing programs that protect public health and promote safe food practices.

I have practiced both Meditation and Mindfulness in my personal life for the past decade and have brought mindfulness into my classroom for the past 9 years.

I’m originally from Los Angeles, California, and I have a deep love for writing, crafting, and exploring. After the Los Angeles fires, I realized I didn’t want to wait on dreams anymore and decided to actualize them, not only to make myself proud but also to heal old wounds.

A; I was born and raised in Michigan, but after my husband and I married in 1995 we relocated to the San Francisco Bay Area where we lived until we moved to Berlin in 2017. We made that drastic move because we wanted to travel and experience a slower life pace than the Silicon Valley provided.

I am the youngest of six siblings in a loving family of second-generation Jamaican Guatemalans. I am an anesthesiologist who has chosen to specialize in pediatric anesthesia. As a graduate of Yale Medical School of Medicine, I have extensive experience in academia and private practices including dental clinics and my love and joy of working with kids has allowed me the great fortune to participate in multiple volunteer medical missions internationally: Guatemala, Colombia, Thailand, and Kenya. I am always fascinated by kids innate ability to dive in and fully experience what is presented to them; Their attentiveness, curiosity, and eagerness to learn and fully experience life’s events are the foundation that inspires my intention to fuel their imagination with age-appropriate adventure to introduce them and help them prepare to receive anesthesia and other medical procedures.
